StepTrek 2019
In its 19th year, the Pittsburgh StepTrek will begin Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 at 11AM at South Side Park (Josephine & 21st Streets). The event has lasted this long due to the backing of individuals with a curiosity as to what lies at the top or bottom of the numerous public stairs in the neighborhood.

Slopes Community Picnic
The Slopes Summer Picnic is happening on Tuesday, July 14 at Bandi Schaum Community Garden at 6:30 p.m. Join us for good food and fun......enjoy a warm summer evening in the community garden with friends and neighbors. Burgers and dogs will be provided by SSSNA. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share and a beverage of your choice. All are welcome. Rain or shine.

Dirty Dozen Watching Party
Join the South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association to cheer on the 38th Dirty Dozen. Bicyclists will ride up Eleanor Street on Saturday October 23, 2021. We will be cheering at 2410 Cobden Street from 2:00PM to 4:00PM with hot coffee and hot cocoa to drink and serve to the riders. If you’re not familiar, the Dirty Dozen is a bicycle race up Pittsburgh’s 13 toughest hills. Welsh Way is hill #11, and Eleanor Street is hill #12.

This family-friendly event combines photography, historic narrative and a sense of neighborhood dependent upon steps. On Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. we need a bit of your elbow grease to help beautify the hillside at the corner of Barry & Mission Streets. Through the City of Pittsburgh, the South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association was awarded a Love Your Block grant to beautify the site. Arlington Rec Center Mural Feedback

We will have Roberto Maxwell, our local artist, on hand to display some options for the mural, and we will be answering questions and taking feedback!
