Tucked behind a fence is this 1940s memorial to honor community residents who served the United States in times of war. Slopes residents maintain the memorial, which was renovated and rededicated on September 11, 2007. State Elm Street funds permitted extensive improvements that included landscaping, fencing, sidewalks and new flagstone.
