Take left and continue along Mission St. to S. 18th St. That’s South Side Park rising up the hill to your left. On the right, after the first bridge, is the Mission St. pumping station circa 1900, which delivers water into the neighborhood and surrounding area. Continue across second bridge, which was built in 1939 as a project of the Public Works Administration under FDR. An SSSNA initiative brightened this stretch of Mission by replacing existing street lighting with higher wattage lamps.
