  • South Side Neighborhood Plan – Feb. 10th

    Join us for our next general meeting on Tuesday February 10th at 7:00 PM in the Main Lounge of St Paul’s retreat center.

  • SSSNA Christmas Party -12/16

    Please Join us for the SSSNA Christmas Party on Tuesday December 16, 2008 at 7:00 PM at St Paul’s Retreat Center main dining room.  Dinner will be provided.  If you would like, you are welcome to bring a side dish or dessert to share.  Also, this year, we are asking everyone to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Brashear Association Food Pantry.

  • 12/14 Carol Service at the Monastery:

    Fr. Don Ware, C.P. invites our Slopes neighbors to a Christmas Carol Service
    on Sunday evening, December 14th, from 7:00 – 8:00 PM.
    “Carols from Many Lands” is the theme of the evening and will include brief introductions
    and Christmas Carols from other cultures.
    Refreshments will follow at 8:00 PM.

  • November 18th General Meeting – Commander McNeilly

    Join us on November 18th for our November general meeting.  Our guest speaker with be Zone 3 Police Commander Catherine McNeilly.  We will have the opportunity to meet Commander McNeilly, share concerns, and learn how we can make the slopes a safer community. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM and will be held at the Main Lounge of St Paul’s retreat center, 148 Monastery Avenue.

  • General Meeting – 10/7 Board Elections

    Join us on Tuesday, October 7, at 7:00 PM at St Paul’s retreat center for our October General Meeting.  We will be holding board elections, speaking with Skelly and Loy regarding the South Side Park study, and planning for 2009.

  • ELM STREET FUNDED PARK & SCULPTURE FEATURED IN PITTSBURGH STEPTREK

    2008 Event Celebrates City Anniversary as a Pittsburgh 250 + Fit Partner

    PITTSBURGH — Two parks – one a memorial to war veterans and the other featuring a signature representation of the South Side Slopes neighborhood in the fabricated canvas of a COR-TEN steel plate – are featured in the 8th Annual Pittsburgh StepTrek, which takes walkers over the largest concentration of public steps in the city from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5.

  • SSSNA 10th Anniversary Party and Scrim Dedication – 9/25

    Please come to the dedication celebration of the completed garden funded by Elm Street funds of the Garden at Brosville & Monastery Streets on September 25 at 7:00pm.  There will be a reception area at the parking lot for the St.Paul of the Cross Monastery – church Lot.  Many State and Local officials will be there to celebrate this Slopes accomplishment.  Please join us.  Refreshments will be served.   

  • September 9 – General Meeting at 7:00 PM

    Join us for our September general meeting on September 9, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the Main Lounge of St. Paul’s Retreat Center.   Our Speakers will be a representative from the Urban Redevelopment Authority to talk about URA housing programs and Lisa Ceoffe to talk about Pittsburgh’s urban forest and efforts to keep our trees healthy in the city.  In addition, Tiffani Emig, the Curator of Collections from the Rivers of Steel Heritage Area, will be in attendance to share with us the results of the Seeing Pittsburgh Project.

  • Slopes Cleanup Saturday – 7/26 at 9:00 AM

    Come Join us Saturday 7/26 at 9:00 AM at the parking lot at 18th and Carson for a Slopes Cleanup.   Teams will disperse into the slopes from there.  Trash bags and gloves will be provided.
