Welcome to StepTrek 2022! This is our digital narrative. Click one of the route images below to walk the route and read the narrative.

Pittsburgh StepTrek is the annual South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association fundraiser that supports projects for the betterment of the community. The 2022 routes will take a tour of the hillsides and spectacular views that distinguish Pittsburgh as you explore the South Side Slopes over 6 miles and 2,945 steps.

This year we invite you to explore one or both routes that traverse over 6 miles and almost three thousand steps!!

The Gold Route (west), at 1,745 steps and 3.0 miles includes the UPMC Mercy Big Bell Climb (265 steps) at German Square, a beer spur to Allentown, and a water stop at St Paul of the Cross Monastery.

The Black Route (east), at 1,200 steps and 3.0 miles, with South Side Park, goats, acoustic music by Brad Yoder and sponsor tables at the Fort (Arlington Spray Park), and Garvey’s.

After your trek through the Slopes, we encourage you to visit our hilltop friends starting at 7pm at the Allentown Night Market, www.AllentownNightMarket.com
