From distinctly re-purposed lofts and brand new condominiums to beautifully restored homes, each is a reflection of the owner’s own style and tastes. The May 10th cleanup will depart from the South 18th Street bend and will continue up 18th. Join us from 9 AM to 12 PM
Join South Side Slopes volunteers in the planting of this year’s gardens. We will start at the Greeley & Josephine garden, then move to the Barry & Josephine garden. We could really use your help. The more, the merrier!
Gloves and tools will be provided, but if you have your own favorites, you can bring them.

If you haven’t been there yet, UUBU 6 is in the heart of the South Side Slopes and has reasonable drinks and food. Stop by and meet some new neighbors or reconnect with old friends on Tuesday, May 6.
The April 19th cleanup will begin at Josephine and South 27th, and will travel up Josephine as far as possible.

The SSSNA will host a special Meet the Candidates Night on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 7 PM in main lounge of St Paul of the cross Retreat Center. Attending will be State Representative Harry Readshaw and State Representative Erin Molchany. Both are running for the Democratic nomination in the newly reorganized 36th legislative district. The Primary Election is May 20th. Come out, meet the candidates, and participate in this important election.

Conservation Begins Here.
The Student Conservation Association (SCA) SCA is America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks qualified applicants to lead, educate, and inspire high school students for the 2014 Pittsburgh summer program
Lead, mentor and coach a crew of 5-6 students, ages 15-19, while completing various conservation service projects designed to build an ethic of community and environmental stewardship. Projects include a range of activities such as trail and park maintenance, habitat restoration, revitalization of abandoned urban properties or to urban agriculture and run for 6 weeks at a time. In addition, leaders will facilitate pre- and post- program planning which includes crew training, environmental education and reporting. The 2014 Pittsburgh Program locations include:

Qualifications:
Ability to meet SCA’s criminal background check standards
Compensation: $4025 total salary depending on funding, experience & crew length.
